Research
The Hadean Eon is named after Hades, the Greek god of the underworld. It's the earliest geological eon, predating any rock record on Earth's surface. Our understanding comes from lunar samples, meteorites, and zircon crystals that survived billions of years of geological recycling.
Key references include studies of the Late Heavy Bombardment, the Giant Impact Hypothesis (the collision that formed the Moon), and models of early atmospheric formation from volcanic outgassing.
Artistic Decisions
The sphere is not a scientific simulation. It is an emotional abstraction: a single form that carries the weight of planetary formation. The visual language draws from lava photography, deep-space imaging, and the tradition of luminism in painting.
The choice to use procedural generation rather than pre-authored textures was deliberate: the artwork should feel alive, not static. Every frame is unique.
Architecture
The system is architected as a set of coordinated subsystems: an experience orchestrator (finite state machine), a scene renderer, an audio-reactive engine, and a quality manager that adapts to device capability in real time. This separation allows artistic iteration without deep rewrites.
